Personally, this is my favorite time to visit CityWalk. Once the sun goes down, the entire area transforms into a glowing neon light display, with music and a much more energetic atmosphere.

The cooler evening temperatures are also a huge plus, especially in Orlando, where afternoons can feel extremely hot and humid. Restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues all feel more lively at night, making the experience even more enjoyable.

In my opinion, CityWalk feels most magical between 7 PM and 10 PM, when the lights are fully on, and the nighttime atmosphere is at its best.

Is CityWalk Worth Visiting?

In my opinion, Universal CityWalk is worth visiting even if you’re not planning to spend the day inside the parks. It offers a fun mix of dining, shopping, and entertainment, all in a lively setting that feels uniquely Orlando.

Another big advantage is that you don’t need a park ticket to enjoy it, making it an easy and more budget-friendly option for an evening out.

To me, CityWalk feels like much more than just the entrance to Universal—it’s an experience on its own. The combination of themed restaurants, fun shops, sweet treats, music, and nighttime energy gives it a unique atmosphere that adds something extra to a Universal Orlando trip.

Would I call it a must-do? If you’re already visiting Universal, absolutely. And even without park tickets, it can still be a really fun place to spend a few hours in Orlando.
