Right now I am doing a grape detox cure — for those who know about it — so my kitchen is full of grapes. Since my husband and my son are not doing that detox, I was planning to make them a classic pork roast for dinner. But with all those grapes right in front of me, I decided to serve the roast with grapes instead.

Pork roast is a meat that pairs very easily with sweet flavors, so today I am sharing this pork roast with grapes recipe.

Ingredients

– Pork roast

– Red grapes (organic if possible)

– Garlic

– White onions

– Red onions

– Shallots

– Sage

– Turmeric

– Olive oil

– Salt and pepper

Method

The recipe is very simple and incredibly quick. In just a few minutes, you can prepare a dish that is also lovely to serve when you have guests who enjoy sweet-and-savory combinations.

I almost always cook pork roast in the oven because I like it browned on the outside, and oven cooking is perfect for that result.

Place the pork roast in an ovenproof dish. Slice the white onion and garlic — or leave the garlic in its skin if you prefer — and place them around the roast. Drizzle the roast with a little olive oil, add the herbs, sage, turmeric, pepper, and salt if you wish.

I let the roast marinate in the dish for a good half hour before putting it in the oven so it can absorb all the flavors.

Then roast it at 200°C / 390°F for 30 minutes, basting regularly with the cooking juices or adding a little water if needed. After half an hour, turn the roast over and cook for another 30 minutes or longer depending on the size of the roast and how done you like it.

Meanwhile, in a saucepan, sauté the sliced shallots, 1 or 2 garlic cloves in their skins, sliced red onion, and seedless grapes in olive oil. Add pepper and let everything cook down gently for about 30 minutes.

You can enjoy this pork roast with grapes with a good homemade mashed potato, for example. It is also very easy to prepare and goes beautifully with this recipe.
