Where Is Lovers Key State Park?
The park is located on Estero Island, south of Fort Myers Beach and north of Bonita Springs.
The protected area includes several barrier islands:
- Lovers Key
- Inner Key
- Black Island
- Long Key
Years ago, these islands could only be reached by boat. According to local legend, only couples would visit the island for romantic getaways, which is how the name “Lovers Key” was born.
Even today, despite the development of Southwest Florida, the park still feels peaceful and beautifully preserved.
