Chocolate Muffins
Another American sweet specialty is muffins. They come in many different varieties, but today I am going to give you my recipe for chocolate muffins.
Ingredients for about ten chocolate muffins:
– 200 g flour, plus a little for the molds
– 125 g butter
– 2 eggs
– 15 cl milk
– 100 g granulated sugar
– 30 g dark baking chocolate
– 1 packet baking powder
– 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
Start by cutting the butter, letting it soften, and working it with a wooden spatula to soften it further. Then add the sugar and whisk until the mixture becomes nice and fluffy. Beat the eggs like for an omelet and add them to the mixture. In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa, and baking powder, then add it to the batter, alternating with the milk.
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F / gas mark 6). Butter and flour muffin tins, or prepare a silicone tray, or use paper cups like the ones used for cupcakes.
Fill the molds halfway and distribute the chocolate squares (previously broken up), then cover with the remaining batter. Bake the chocolate muffins for about 20 minutes => the muffins should be well risen but still soft to the touch!
Let the muffins cool and remove them from the molds (unless they are in paper molds)!
Just like cookies, they are perfect for snack time with a nice glass of milk! Enjoy!
