Fort Myers Beach Pier: Reconstruction Update
The Fort Myers Beach Pier, once one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks, was destroyed by Hurricane Ian in September 2022. The pier is not currently open or accessible.
A new pier is scheduled to be built in the same location. The replacement will be approximately 1,000 feet long and 12 feet wide, making it longer and wider than the former structure. It will also be built with reinforced materials designed to improve its resistance to future storms.

TIMES SQUARE: THE TOURIST CENTER OF FORT MYERS BEACH
Located near the northern end of Estero Island, Times Square was the main tourist center of Fort Myers Beach before Hurricane Ian. The area remains an important gathering place, although reconstruction and redevelopment are still clearly visible in 2026.
Several restaurants, bars, and businesses have reopened nearby, while new projects continue to reshape the neighborhood. Times Square has not completely returned to its pre-Ian appearance, but it remains one of the island’s busiest areas, particularly in the evening and on weekends.
Old San Carlos Boulevard
