It was time to leave, and we said “goodbye” to the lovely town of Santa Barbara to hit the road toward San Diego. On the way, we passed by Los Angeles, which we would discover a few days later. I took the opportunity to snap a few pictures of signs and trucks (American trucks) from the car!

Once past Los Angeles, we took the coast and discovered the beaches of Southern California. We made stops in Laguna Beach, Dana Point and Oceanside. Laguna Beach is the seaside resort closest to Los Angeles and Oceanside is the one closest to San Diego.

All the beaches of Southern California are not only magnificent, but they also have a “cool” atmosphere and, as a bonus for surfing lovers, beautiful waves! There are parking lots providing direct access to the beaches everywhere, restaurants (though not everywhere), piers stretching out over the ocean, marinas… We took a few pictures of the houses on the beach that allow their owners to have their feet almost in the water.

I will let you enjoy the images, which speak for themselves…

After this magnificent day following the southern coast on the legendary Road One through Laguna Beach, Dana Point and Oceanside, our next stop was very close: San Diego!
