Italy on Our Doorstep…
We are lucky enough to live just a few steps from the Italian border. So we can often go and buy their local products. Italian food is simple, but their staple ingredients are excellent: Parma ham, Aosta ham, Parmesan, mozzarella, pecorino, ricotta, pasta, pizza, and many other specialties.
Here are 3 Italian recipes for your appetizers or starters that are not only simple but excellent when made with Italian products. There is still a little American wink with Philadelphia cheese in one of them!
FIRST RECIPE
– One tub of Philadelphia
– Slices of bresaola
– Arugula
Take one slice of bresaola, spread Philadelphia cheese on it, then place a little arugula in the center. Roll it up and that is it, it is ready! All you have to do is repeat the process as many times as needed.
SECOND RECIPE
– Parma ham, Aosta ham…
– Breadsticks (plain, sesame…)
Take a breadstick and wrap a thin slice of ham around it diagonally and loosely, and there you go, it is ready! Same as the other recipe: just repeat the step as many times as you want!
THIRD RECIPE!
– Arugula
– Thin shavings of Parmesan
– One pear
– Olive oil
Arrange the salad on a plate, then add the Parmesan and the pear on top. Season with a drizzle of olive oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. It is ready!
As you can see, these are 3 very simple Italian recipes to make, and they definitely make an impression!
