2013 Road Trip in California and Las Vegas!
One evening in June 2013, it was decided: our honeymoon would take place in the destination we had both wanted to discover for a very long time:
VISITING CALIFORNIA!
Off we went, and I was already browsing various websites to put together a homemade road trip for us! Since our son would only be 22 months old when we left in the summer, we had to adapt the trip to his comfort. So we did not do the theme parks on this first trip, but since we were so close to Las Vegas, we still planned a little getaway there in our itinerary. 🙂
I planned everything myself from A to Z except for the car rental (my husband handled that very well 🙂 ). Once we had chosen our arrival city and departure city, we booked our plane tickets with as few layovers as possible because of the baby. And contrary to what I expected, buying tickets in June for August, almost last minute, ended up costing us less in the end! (?)
I then immersed myself in travel guides, forums, and a few blogs. After several days of research adapted to what we wanted, but also to our needs with a baby, I chose an itinerary and my husband approved! 🙂
So we chose to arrive in San Francisco, then drive down to San Diego with a few days in Monterey and then Santa Barbara. We had also planned a detour to Las Vegas and to finish this fabulous trip in the very famous city of Los Angeles.
Everything was booked: flights, car, routes, schedule, hotels… We just had to wait and pack our suitcases!!!!!
