During the high season between late December and April, it is a major tourist destination, especially around the <strong>Fort Myers Beach Fishing Pier<\/strong>. Almost all along the island, you will find beautiful beaches covered with fine sugar-like sand. As is often the case in Florida, you can enjoy many water sports there, such as kayaking, parasailing, riding an electric bike on the beach, or simply relaxing under the Florida sun. Most beaches are equipped with amenities, picnic tables, and barbecues. It is also in this area that you can access the departure points for small cruises on different themes such as dolphins, sunsets, and fishing. We actually did one of these cruises last year in Fort Myers Beach.<\/p>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<script> (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({ google_ad_client: \"ca-pub-1893506235286042\", enable_page_level_ads: true }); <\/script><\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of the island, when arriving from <strong>Bonita Springs<\/strong>, you can access the beaches through the <em>Beach Access<\/em> points, which include a few parking spaces and are much quieter than the beaches in the center. You can also choose accommodation in this area because there are many hotels and vacation rentals there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/floridaandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/30629685_1689342211172765_7024982254619197440_o.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/floridaandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/30261003_1683988931708093_6562795760130195456_o.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Otherwise, you can head toward the central beaches of Fort Myers Beach, where the Pier is located. It extends quite far into the Gulf of Mexico, and you can walk there both during the day and in the evening. On this pier, fishermen, tourists, and local residents mingle together. In the evening, you can admire the fabulous Florida sunsets. You will probably spot a few pelicans and dolphins coming to eat the leftovers from the fishermen. We saw them several times.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Address: 950 Estero Boulevard Fort Myers Beach, 33931 Fort Myers, FL. Admission is free, like the majority of piers in Florida. To date, we have only seen one paid pier, the one in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Parking is paid.<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/floridaandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/24210400_1553835481390106_4165419395794083764_o.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/floridaandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/28168432_1638772526229734_8820754133687572884_n.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The pier is adjacent to the lively area of Fort Myers Beach called <strong>Times Square<\/strong>, considered to be its center. In this part, you will find restaurants, boutiques, and small activities depending on the day. You will also see street performers offering entertainment. On weekends, you can enjoy small concerts performed by local bands or musicians from elsewhere. We listened to good live music there several times. And of course, true to the American atmosphere, you will see people dancing spontaneously on the square during these concerts. It is a relaxed and friendly moment, very different from the more upscale atmosphere of Naples, Florida, which we also appreciate very much.<\/p>\n<p>What makes Fort Myers Beach especially attractive is precisely this balance between beach life and a more animated local center. You can enjoy a quiet stretch of sand, then later move toward the pier and Times Square for a more social and lively experience. That variety is part of what makes the destination so popular.<\/p>\n<p>For many travelers, Fort Myers Beach is one of the classic beach experiences of Southwest Florida. It offers the sea, the Gulf atmosphere, sunsets, casual restaurants, cruises, and that relaxed rhythm that so many people look for in Florida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>Fort
