It is a fairly simple recipe that looks like a double-crust pie and can be enjoyed with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream, just like in American movies.<\/p>\n<p>I found this apple pie recipe on several websites, and since it is really good, I am sharing it with you in turn. With this recipe, you will also make your own pie crust from scratch.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients for the crust<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 500 g flour (I chose whole wheat flour for my version)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 250 g unsalted butter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 1 teaspoon salt<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 50 g powdered sugar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or lemon juice<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 7 to 9 tablespoons water (depending on the consistency of your dough while kneading)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Ingredients for the filling<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 6 to 8 apples of any variety (if you are unsure, choose Golden apples because their sweet flesh works very well in pies)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 100 g brown sugar<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 1 tablespoon cinnamon<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 1 vanilla pod or 1 capful vanilla extract<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 50 g butter<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 2 tablespoons cornstarch<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; 2 tablespoons lemon juice<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Preparing the crust<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Put the flour, salt, and powdered sugar into a bowl, mix, and make a well. Cut the softened butter into pieces and place them in the well. Mix everything by hand until you get a sandy texture. Then add the apple cider vinegar or lemon juice and the water. Continue mixing by hand until a smooth dough forms.<\/p>\n<p>Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it, and refrigerate it for 1 hour.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Preparing the filling<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Peel the apples and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Place them in a dish and mix them with the brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Melt the butter in a frying pan, then add the apple mixture. Cook until the apple pieces are caramelized, then add the cornstarch and lemon juice. Let everything cook for a few more minutes over low heat.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Assembling the apple pie<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Take the pie dough out of the refrigerator and let it soften for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, butter and flour a cake pan. Cut the dough into two equal parts. Roll out the first part and place it in the prepared pan. Prick the bottom with a fork and pour the apple filling over it.<\/p>\n<p>Then roll out the second piece of dough and place it over the filling, sealing the edges with the bottom crust. Make a few cuts on top of the apple pie and brush the crust with egg yolk. Finish by sprinkling a little brown sugar on top.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in a preheated oven at 180\u00b0C \/ 350\u00b0F for 40 minutes.
